A cambelt is also known as a timing belt. Its purpose is to keep the crank and camshaft in time with each other. Cambelts can last a long time but will usually need replacing after around 40,000 – 60,000 miles. Over time the belt can stretch and become worn meaning that the timing of your vehicle’s engine becomes delayed. This will affect the performance of the engine. If you think your timing belt needs replacing, call us to book your vehicle in for an inspection.
